What makes this program exciting and accessible?

The Associate of Applied Science Degree and/or Certificate in Surveying Technology at OSU-OKC prepares students for a career in the surveying field and professional licensing examinations. The curriculum meets the educational requirements set forth by the Oklahoma State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.

100% Online Classes and you can complete your course work while you are working. The program and classes fit your schedule and are convenient to your life, you do not need to ever come to campus.

  • The classes are taught by licensed PLS in good standing.
  • The OSU-OKC program was one of the first to be designed for the online space with classes being instructed through online starting in 2010.

Surveying and Mapping Technicians are among Oklahoma’s Top 100 Critical Occupations, with an average of 130 annual openings and median annual earnings of $45,850 with a high school diploma or equivalent Top 100 Critical Occupations – Oklahoma Works – Oklahoma Works. Industry partners prefer employees to have at least an associate degree in surveying. Online Surveying Technology A.A.S.

Those interested in pursuing an associate’s degree in surveying are required to complete the two-year program. Graduates are given the tools to be productive members of the workforce.

Online Surveying Core Technical Certificate

OSU-OKC’s one-year certificate program is available to students pursuing certain designated courses. Graduates are given the tools to be productive members of the workforce.

  • Graduates will have completed 27 credit hours

Scholarships

With active support from the Oklahoma Society of Land Surveyors,  students have the opportunity to join OSU-OKC’s OSLS chapter and apply for one of the scholarships offered annually.

FAQ

Do I need to come to the campus for any of the classes in the program?

All of our coursework can be completed online without having to physically come to the campus.

What do I need to start the admission process?

In order to begin, you will need to apply for admission to the University and provide transcripts for all previous coursework. Your transcripts will be evaluated and equivalent courses will be given credit.

Do I need to start at any time or do I need to wait?

Courses are offered on a rotation but you can begin in any semester. Our courses are sequenced so that whichever semester you begin you will be able to complete the program in the shortest amount of time. We do offer classes in Fall, Spring, & Summer.

What type of degree could I get?

We offer an Associate of Applied Science and/or a Certificate (completion of core 27-hours) in Surveying Technology.

When do classes start?

Classes are offered in Fall, Spring, & Summer. 16-weeks Fall & Spring and 8-weeks over the Summer.

How much does it cost?

For Oklahoma Residents the cost of Tuition, Fees, and Books is about 13K for the 60 credit hour AAS degree, the Certificate would cost just under 6K.
For Non-Residents the cost of Tuition, Fees, and Books is about 28K for the 60 credit hour AAS degree, the Certificate would cost just under 13K.
